Taking Grace Church’s tradition of volunteerism into the community, the Outreach Committee uses the guideline of “see a need and fill it.” Supported by parish funds and fund-raising activities, as well as the time and talents of parishioners, the committee uses its resources each year for a variety of needs. Some activities and organizations aided by the Outreach Committee and the parish are providing junior high school students with backpacks in the fall, participating in Adopt-A-Family at Christmas time, and shopping for, cooking and serving evening meals at Shelter, Inc., which serves homeless families, for two weeks each year. Community organizations receive donations, plus the love and labor of individual parishioners, living the committee’s other operating principle: “Tell us your need, and we’ll do what we can to help.”
