Sunday School starts off with a bang each fall with Grace Church’s Rally Day. At a party that now causes almost as much excitement and lost sleep as Halloween and Christmas, high energy is the name of the game as the children, both regulars and guests, circulate around the lawn. The children bowl, play golf, fish, slather peanut butter for pine cone bird feeders, trounce the adults in basketball, and play a multitude of other games. After accumulating “Grace Bucks,” they can visit the well-stocked prize table to claim anything from tiaras to magic cards. The bounce house and cotton candy are big favorites. A snack table is near at hand, and hamburgers and hotdogs at the last of the church’s summer barbeques provide fuel for the good times and to the adults so they can keep up. After recovering for a week, regular Sunday School starts the next Sunday.
